Learning is Fun!!!

This month has been filled with hands-on education. 4th graders visited the Irvine Railroad Park where they were able to pan for gold and experience the life of a forty-niner. Then we stopped by the OC zoo for a guided tour. Students were engaged with science as they pet an opossum, watched a mountain lion enjoy dinner, and listened to the noise created by a bald eagle’s feather verses the silent movement of an owl. Science did not stop there. We brought the scientific method into practice as the class began their balloon races. We also went through the entire writing process and in the end typed up tall tales. Each day we focused on how each of us is created in the image of God to bring Him glory. And if the students didn’t feel valued enough, classroom parents came in on Valentine’s Day to help the students with a beautiful craft and serve them chocolate fondue and all other sweets!
